MAY 31 - LONDON this week!!

London takeover!! This transfer I was reunited with my Hamilton Mountain companion's Elder Erickson who coming down from Barrie. What a delightful suprise it is!! I love that guy, he such a great example in living the gospel.

We have a busy week than ever these past days because our other half, the London 1st East were ET(Emergency Transfer)out due to lack of missionaries in the mission. The area already big as it is, but now it just getting much bigger. It takes an hour and half to get from the other end of the town. Our mileage kilometers is down in the drain with that much area to covered. However, our suffering will be only for a season as the mission will be having 17 new missionaries this upcoming transfer. With that in mind, we'll soon have a relief on our behalf.

This week in the work of salvation, we meet an old guy name Bruce at Strathroy on Saturday when we drop by one of our investigator. We have a heated discussion for about 35 minutes about what our message is all about. At first he wasn't willing to learn much but to his great suprise he did afterward. In his own word : "Alright. You got me clinch with the sealing". As we asking inspired question time and time again, we were able to hit the spot of his interest and that is sealing. As a result, he decided to do his own searching about it. Teaching and testify is great but without asking inspired question, you missing out on what they might need to know and want to know at that time. My testimonies were greatly strengthened with that experience. We been all over the places teaching the lessons and planning for church with those that we were working with and what a great joy it was to be able to be in Lord's errand. I have no word to describe those feeling that I have felt.

In my study this week, I been doing a lot of reading in the church magazines. One of those that stuck out to me was in the article of a returned missionary who shared her esperience about not receiving the blessings of the work despite her hard work and best efforts in doing all that she can. President Monson said in his remarks regarding seeing the blessings in our life was her answer : "We have all experienced times when our focus is on what we lack rather than on our blessings. Said the Greek philosopher Epictetus, 'He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has'. Regardless of our circumstances, each of us has much for which to be grateful if we will pause and contemplate our blessings. May we all count our blessings and offer Him our gratitude for it.

It is official now!! My dad has become the newest member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! He such a happy man now and so am I. He the one who started it all and now he finish it. One more year and we will be all sealed in the Temple. I can't wait for that to happen :)

Have a wonderful rest of the week, everyone! Elder Ngerantar is signing out.

MAY 23 - London : CHARITY NEVER FAILETH!

ou could never guess how the weather going to be like. When you thought it going to be warm, it turn cold. For example, we had snow yesterday but wasn't enough to stay longer on the ground. There a lot going on this week as usual. We have a big meeting on Thursday this past week. Zone council and our final interviews with our beloved mission president, Elder Weatherford Clayton. He's such a great man. Every single time I got off from meeting with him, I feel super inspired to get out there and share the gospel. He taught me so many great lesson in life and one of them is to be patient in everything that I do and to always looked to the Atonement of Jesus Christ because that where it all began.

On Tuesday, we meeting with the former investigator who we picked up last week and she's super sweet. Beverly is really excited for her baptism but unfortunately she wouldn't make it on her date due to some other things that she need to get through first. We're planning on set her with a new baptismal date on June. We also have returning members that we're working on that still good to go for her next ordinance. Her name is Monique and she's a single mother with 16 year old son. They're really close with each other. Remind me of my mum back at home.

The work were a bit slow in the beginning of the week but things start to get developed by the end of the week. We found 3 new investigators this week. Leslie, who laugh a lot no matter what we said. Winta, 17-year old teenager who we have interesting conversation about chastity, and Jenna, another teenager who thought that we wouldn't care much about her if she's a lesbian. But the opposite happen, we do care a lot about her. The church is still reaches out to them regardless what.

One of the great highlight of the week were when we're in Strathroy, one of the town that we covered in London. It takes 30 minutes to get there and 30 minutes to get back. We have quite a few members lived down there and we found new investigator there last week named Patrick. He's super awesome!! We stop by his house again on Saturday and he invited us in and we shared a great lesson about the Book of Mormon. He has a very good question that have me and my companion wondering : What is it mean to be a Mormon? Hmm, I said to myself, yeah, what is it to be a Mormon.

So, everyone!! I have a special request for you. Could you tell me what does it mean to be a Mormon? Please get back to me next week, will ya? :)

To conclude the letter, I just want to shared my testimony that I know the gospel is true and without it, I wouldn't be here in the first place. It brought great joy and peace in my life to know that there is someone out there that looked out for me and those that I cared. Despite that, I know that I need to play my part in life and that is to continue making the right choice because in the end of the day, my action is my own. I know the Book of Mormon is true and Joseph Smith is the prophet in these last dispensation that were called by God to restored back His church on the earth. By following his counsel, I know that I will be safe and able to hold on in my journey back to my Heavenly Father. I leave these with you all in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen!

MAY 22 - LONDON this week!! Round 3

It's an unusual Preparation Day as we normally did this on Monday but due to Victoria's Day holiday on Monday, things got shifted around. One of the many thing that I learned this week is about coping with the adversity. With the foundation that we have in the gospel, we were able to comprehend much purpose of life more deeply as to others whose not sharing the same beliefs as we do. I learn from perspective that the adversity is a vehicle for us to growth in this life and the death is a doorways to that new phase of life which all of us going to take eventually.

It was a big change in the zone as almost of all the missionaries that we have in the zone is transferring. It going to be a big crowd of missionaries in the Stake Center this Tuesday. I would never see it coming as my past companion, Elder Erickson@Captain Utah will be coming down to London and we going to served together as zone leaders in the mighty London zone! We have so much fun together especially when it come to sport.

This week was a busy week for us as we have 6 total lessons on Wednesday. Also, funny thing happen with our returning member, Ruben. He went down to the temple the other day with the youth but couldn't joined them for the proxy baptism as he forgot to bring his temple recommend. Poor guy. And as for our investigator, Beverly is improving well with her addiction. Sister Barker, her friend bought her caf-life to help out with the coffee addiction. My testimony with working with the members strengthened greatly with that experience.
Overall, I have to cut this one short as we have a lot of stuff to do today. Wish everyone a great week with the family. And remember, keep smiling. The day is so much beautiful if you did that :)

MAY 10 - BLESSINGS FROM SERVING THE LORD!!

It was a great feeling to see the family again the other day at Skype though time misunderstanding occur..as alway. Nonetheless, all is well! Many were said but few were important such as "I missed you" and "take care yourself". Seeing those faces really make a lot of difference, rather than emailing and talk on the phone. My dad is doing really well with his lesson and if things goes smoothly, he should be entering the covenant this May 21st!!

We lived nearby London downtown, so we got the chance to see a lot of people walking around as we drove by the street. There's so much love around the people that we meet yesterday. You can sense it from their smile and lively encounter, probably because it the Mother's Day:)
The church was awesome!! All the priesthood in the congregation were called on front to sing "Love At Home'' to the mothers and wives after the sacrament. It was glorious and spectacular! Beverly, the investigator that we just picked up last week, who are missing out on action since last month due to personal issue were at church yesterday. By the end of the service, as we approached her, she told us that she want to be BAPTIZED as soon as possible!! We were shocked. She's so golden!! We set her with a date on May 21st:) It almost a great week until we got stuck in elevator yesterday. We stuck there for almost 40 minutes. Playing Book of Mormon baseball with my companion, Elder McKinnon while we're there. Good stuff!! Hahaha!! Traffic was super bad here in London as we have to leave half an hour early if we have an appointment, otherwise, we'll be late.
MLC's on Wednesday was so amazing! I learn a lot about the work and how to help the missionaries in our zone. We have a lot of new zone leaders on the table!! One of them, Elder Sabin just got called 3 days ago due to new assistants was call. By the end of that meeting, I learn that in order to understanding my purpose better, I need to learn more about the Atonement.

Another thing, my camera was broken a week ago, so it wouldn't be sending any photo for a while. I'm really sad about it, not to mention I got 8 months left to go (Sigh!)
